New store offers big savings

Is your washing machine clunking even when it is in balance or your dryer taking two hours to dry one load? Eric Larson may have just the solution for you during these trying economic times.

Larson, currently a Hudson resident, opened Hudson Appliance at 598 Outpost Circle, Suite C. He can save you money three ways: He offers full service on all makes and models, sells parts to do it yourselfers or can sell you a refurbished machine, which comes with a one year warranty.

"I have always been a fix-it guy," said Larson, who served this area for Mr. Appliance (Woodville) for four years and has been in the industry for 26 years. This is his second retail store. The first one, Appliance Doctors, is in St. Paul. Between the two stores he employs 12 people.

"It is very much a green industry because we recycle the products completely," said Larson. "We get our machines from wholesalers or clients drop them off. Then we fix them. If they are not repairable, we take the good parts out and the scrap out the rest. The steel might become your next car."

The showroom is filled with white, bisque and some stainless steel appliances, all awaiting a new home. There are even a couple of antique/collector appliances Larson is selling for a customer.

"We are the only locally owned appliance shop in St Croix and Pierce counties," said Larson. "Our prices are reasonable with washers and dryers starting at $125. From time to time we will have specials at $100." Gas stoves, electric ranges and refrigerator/freezers start at $175 and up.

In addition to residential repair, they are qualified to repair commercial appliances as well.

For fun Larson, does a radio show and a reality TV show about the business.

"We are all about having fun and enjoying what we do and making the customers happy," said Larson. "The appliances are all reconditioned, cleaned and ready to sell at a reasonable price."

Hudson Appliance is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Sunday. It is located at 596 Outpost Circle Suite C.
