Lisa Buth, has been a resident of Hudson for six years, but her interest in photography has developed into a business that keeps her hopping with clients in the Twin Cities as well as Western Wisconsin. Buth who studied business at the University of Minnesota, started out small after her second child was born.

"I took a lot of seminars and classes to get started," said Buth, who specializes in family, newborn, children and high school senior photos. "I searched for what I wanted to do forever and this just fell into place."

On March 1, Buth moved her business from her basement to a studio at 522 Second St. that she shares with another photographer, Amy Wagner.

Knowledge of her creativity and talent has spread largely by word of mouth. Customer satisfaction is a sure way to gather new clients and Buth has done just that.

She offers a wide variety of packages which may contain coffee table books to canvas prints and slide shows.

Buth shoots her work in studio and at outside locations.

"My style is more modern with more of an urban feel," said Buth. "I am so lucky to have such great clients. They have been so supportive."

She lives in Hudson with her husband Blair and their three children: Cade, Emily and Isabella.

"This way, when the kids are all in high school I will have a full time job I love," said Buth.

The public is invited to an open house Thursday, May 20 at her new studio, 522 Second St., from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is a chance to see her body of work and some of the special projects she is working on.

For more information you may visit her Web site at or call (651) 357-4361. Buth works by appointment only.
