The Pet Parlor opened last month. Owner Britta Myer is a 2008 Hudson High School graduate who readily admits she loves animals, especially dogs. Myer graduated from the Rio Gran Grooming School, located in Hastings, Minn., in November of 2009. It was while she was working at the Posh Pooch in Woodbury, that Myer decided to bring her expertise to Hudson.

"I wanted to bring to a Hudson a little of the glam they offered," said Myer. "So I decided to start my own business."

Myer offers these services: baths, drying, haircuts, ear cleaning, dental irrigation, toe nail trimming and gland expression.

"I'm really knowledgeable regarding the breed standards and the new styles," said Myer. "It is important to give the customer the quality they are paying for."

Myer is ready to do any breed of dog, young or old. Your canine companion will leave the Pet Parlor ready for an excursion, complete with a bandana or bows and nail polish if you desire.

In addition to caring for your canines, Myer is hoping to participate in a grooming competition in Chicago this fall.

"I attend all of the continuing education program and seminars I can," said Myer, who grew up with cats and dogs.

The Pet Parlor is located at 408 Second St. It is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sunday. The hours are subject to change. For more information, Call (715) 808-9784 or visit her Facebook page.
