Food drive aims to 'fill a Humvee' with food

HUDSON -- The Kiwanis Club of Greater Hudson in conjunction with the Hudson US Army Career Center will be conducting a non-perishable food drive to benefit the United Way St. Croix Valley this week.

It will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 and Thursday, Nov. 16 at County Market in Hudson.

“Fill a Humvee” has the goal of filling a U.S. Army Humvee each day with non-perishable food and baby products (diapers, baby wipes, etc.). Cash donations will also be accepted. All proceeds will go directly to the Hudson Area United Way St. Croix Valley which supports the following food pantries: Baldwin Community Food Pantry. Christian Food Cupboard in Hudson, Five Loaves Food Pantry in New Richmond, Grace Place in New Richmond, Pierce County Food Pantry in Ellsworth, Plum City Food Pantry, Prescott Area Food Pantry, River Falls Food Pantry, Roberts Area Food Pantry, Somerset Food Pantry, Spring Valley Community Food Pantry, Turningpoint's shelter in River Falls, West CAP’s Food Pantry and Woodville Food Pantry.
