Submitted by The Phipps Center for the Arts
"A Gift by the Hand," the annual holiday sale of handmade items by regional artists, is now open in the Gift Gallery of The Phipps Center for the Arts. Unique items include pottery, photography, jewelry, books by local authors, journals, blown glass, turned and carved wood, hats and scarves, leather purses, ornaments, and more. Members of The Phipps receive a one-time discount of 20 percent off a total Gift Gallery purchase through the sale, which ends Jan. 8.
Special activities are planned at the center as part of Celebrate the Holidays in Hudson's Candlelight Stroll from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1. "A Gift by the Hand" will be open for shopping, hot apple cider and cookies will be served, docent-led tours of the exhibition "In This Place: What Makes a Place Holy?" will be offered starting at 7 and 8 p.m., and artist Steve King will be on-hand to demonstrate how he makes his stained glass. These activities are free and open to the public.
"A Gift by the Hand" hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, as well as one hour before and through intermission of all performances in The Phipps theaters.
