HGC hosts Winter Market on Feb. 17
Submitted by Hudson Grocery Cooperative
The Hudson Grocery Cooperative will host a Winter Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in the EP Rock School cafeteria, 304 13th St. S., Hudson. This is a free event and open to the public.
Local vendors will have a variety of products for sale including baked goods, honey, jams and jellies, canned goods, and more. If you'd like to enjoy a bounty of fresh vegetables this spring, you might be interested in purchasing a share in one of the local community-supported agriculture farms.
Some of the vendors include: BitMad Bakery, Chicken Opera Farm, Cincotta Family Farms, Community Homestead, Klasen Apiaries, Plantables, Sweet Top Farm, Star Prairie Trout Farm, Sylvan Hills CSA and more.
The pop-up Winter Market is intended to give people a glimpse of what a community-owned co-op could look like — and introduce the public to just a few of the many organic and environmentally-friendly farmers, producers and CSAs in the area.
In addition to the vendors, the event includes demonstrations, door prizes and kids activities.
HGC currently has 530 owners and is actively seeking new owners. Ownerships are $80 for the purchase of four shares of stock in the Hudson Grocery Cooperative. HGC owners currently have reciprocity at Stillwater's River Market Community Co-op and the Whole Earth Grocery Co-op in River Falls.
