There are not too many things a woman can do that create the same sense of glamour as having a manicure or a pedicure. Quinn Wguyen wants to make sure every client leaves his nail salon happy. A veteran in the creative nail business, Wguyen has over 11 years of experience which started while he was watching his aunt in her salon in Atlanta. The St. Paul resident decided after working in Hudson for a short time this was where he wanted to be.

In July he purchased the 2001 Nails salon located at 596 Outpost Circle. The salon has been open since 1999. Along with new ownership, clients, new and established, are likely to see changes both in services and surroundings.

"I knew I wanted to run a business here," said Wguyen. "Everyone is so nice." With six nail stations and eight spa chairs for pedicures, 2001 Nails is set up to serve.

"We have individual fume extractors and an overall air quality system," said Wguyen. "The tools are all sanitized."

Wguyen and his staff offer pedicures which include hot stone massages and manicures which include cuticle removal.

"I like the business," said Wguyen. "Everybody who works here has been in the business at least seven or eight years."

"The clients just really like what we do," said Wguyen, who keeps his eye on the pulse of the industry, offering all the new products including pink, white or pink and white gel nails with glitter or sea shell tips. From French to American tip, acrylic nails to shellac-coated nails, the menu of services is extensive. Even a children's menu is offered.

Other options are freestyle and air brushed designs from flowers to linear creations.

Wguyen agrees there is a technique to professional nail care but states, anybody who likes to do this can do it.

If you need a break, a hot stone foot and leg massage and a sea salt exfoliating scrub are just an exit or two away.

2001 Nails is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Sunday. It is located at 596 Outpost Circle. For an appointment or more information you may call (715) 381-7080. Walk-ins are welcome as well.
