4th candidate for school board to be decided Tuesday
It will be Tuesday before it is decided who will be the fourth candidate for the two open seats on the Hudson Board of Education.
Two candidates were tied for the fourth position in the school board race following the primary on Tuesday. Jim Schrock and Matthew Kari each received 244 votes .
According to information from the Hudson School District, 60 ballots were requested by mail. The official canvas of the results will not take place until next Tuesday to allow any of those ballots to be received and counted. The ballots would only be counted if they were postmarked on or before election day, Feb. 19.
If no further valid ballots are received or if the vote count does not change for Schrock or Kari, the candidate that will advance would be determined by a coin toss or by a draw.
The election on April 2 is for two seats on the Board of Education. The primary had five candidates. The top four finishers advance to the spring election. The top three finishers were Jamie Johnson, Jeanette Kunz and Bruce Hansen.
