Bob, the oldest of the Mueller brothers, was the first one to get involved with martial arts, while the family still lived in Eagan, Minn. That was in 1989. Jeff and Joel each started taking karate when they were 12 and nine respectively. The family had moved to Baldwin by that time.

"It was something that kept them straight and taught them responsibility," said Bob, of his brothers.

"When you are a kid in this environment there is always an adult with you," said Jeff.

"When I was a kid it helped my focus," said Joel. "Primarily this gives you a different respect for those around you."

The trio of brothers opened Adrenaline Martial Arts Academy in Hudson Nov. 1. They hope to pass on to the next generation all of the benefits they received from the sport they love. Of course, they are also offering adult classes as well.

Joel is in graduate school at the present time, while Jeff attended Stout and Bob Stevens Point. All of them have earned a black belt and continue to be active in the sport.

The team is offering lessons in American Karate, a combination of Tai Kwon Do and full contact kick boxing; classes in cardio kick boxing, kick boxing, wrestling lessons (private or group) and mixed martial arts taught by local and national renowned Tom Schmitz.

"We are family oriented, anyone over the age of six can start lessons," said Jeff. Family discounts are available.

The word positive comes up several times as the brothers share their enthusiasm for their family sport.

"Positive role models are good for the kids to be around," said Bob. "The kids here have no choice but to experience a positive influence."

As a sport martial arts offers year round activity, training, competitions and learning opportunities.

"It is not a team sport but everybody gets pretty close," said Jeff. "It is a bonding situation."

The brothers all agree that using their unique combination of training methods they are results driven.

"We can produce more and better results faster," said Bob.

Adrenaline Martial Arts Academy is open Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. as well as Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. It is closed on Saturday and Sunday at this time.
