Earlier this month Youth Action Hudson held its annual All Dressed Up event at North Hudson Village Hall.

The program, originally created by Hudson High School graduate Brooke Brokaw, is designed to make prom more affordable for teens in western Wisconsin, specifically reaching out to families that are financially strained.

The idea has grown into an annual campaign that provides dresses, accessories and services such as Mary Kay cosmetics to young women who want to attend their high school prom.

Throughout the year, YAH collects and cleans ready to wear prom dresses of every size, shape and color as well as handbags, shoes, jewelry and accessories.

This year dresses were collected at various Westconsin locations and at the YAH office. With the help of YAH volunteers and donations from community members Deborah’s Custom Sewing & Alternations, Postmark Grille and The Purple Tree, YAH was able to make prom dreams come true for more than 40 youth in our communities.

YAH reminds residents that as they do spring cleaning and organizing, to consider making donations of dresses, shoes, purses and other accessories.

To arrange for a time to drop off donations, contact YAH at (715)386-9803 or via email at americorps2@youthactionhudson.org.
