Alpha event held
Faith Community Church will be starting its next Alpha Course session Jan. 19. This 11-week course offers a warm, non-threatening environment to ask and discuss the difficult questions that non, new or disenchanted believers have concerning Christ, faith and religion. Each Thursday evening sessions begin at 5:45 p.m. as participants arrive, the meal is served at 6 p.m. and the evening ends promptly at 9 p.m. There is also an all-day Saturday retreat held about the eighth week.
The follow-on course, A Life Worth Living, will also be offered. Those who are just getting started in their Christian life often ask, "What's next?" A Life Worth Living gives clear and powerful answers for many of the questions and needs of adults worldwide. Based on Paul's letter to the Philippians, this course looks at some of the new things Jesus Christ can do for us today. Those attending A Life Worth Living will share in the Alpha dinner and then break out into their own separate groups.
Additional studies this Alpha session offered are as follows: a men's studies, Quest for Authentic Manhood and Winning at Work and at Home by Robert Lewis; a women's study entitled Come Along by Jane Rubietta, and the study Experiencing God by Henry and Richard Blackaby.
