For Aaron Meier, a White Bear Lake, Minn., native, sports and fitness were early interests. As a multiple sport athlete while in high school, he learned the importance of conditioning and he has worked out ever since.

Meier has owned the downtown Minneapolis Anytime Fitness for four years. When the Hudson location, which originally opened in 2006, became available Meier and his business partner Nick Fransen leaped at the opportunity.

“The main thing we look to do is help people meet their fitness goals,” said Meier.

Nick Fransen, is a Woodbury native who graduated with a bachelor’s in criminal justice and also served eight years in the Marines.

“The fitness business was an organic fit for me,” said Fransen. “Health and wellness was always a part of my life. Anytime Fitness offers a product we both believe in.”

Anytime Fitness, which was founded in Hastings and remains headquartered there, has 100 locations in Wisconsin and 130 in Minnesota. Membership allows access to over 2,000 clubs around the globe.

Both Meier and Fransen knew from their first visit to Hudson that it was a great place to be.

“I like the downtown. There is a lot of stuff going on in Hudson,” said Meier. “We like it here and we have great neighbors.”

Changes coming to the Hudson location include new cardio equipment, remodeling to create a small group fitness studio and personal training.

They have also added Fitness on Request. It is a kiosk, where you can select from 50 different classes including, spin, boot camp aerobic and Zumba to participate in 24/7.

Anytime Fitness is located at 1701 Ward Ave. at the west end of Plaza 94. Call (715) 386-5020 or go to
