Arthur Ernest Coulter, 65

Arthur Ernest Coulter, age 65, of Hudson, passed away Dec. 29, at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., surrounded by his loving family.

Arthur was born Feb. 27, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Henry and Donna (Mayer) Coulter. He graduated from Hudson High School, with the class of 1966. Art then went on to further his education at the University of River Falls. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Art worked as a commercial carpenter for Union Local 851, and retired from Minuti-Ogle in 2002.

Art was a true outdoorsman enjoying the beauty of the outdoors by hunting, fishing, and camping. As a young man, Art was a tremendous athlete and later enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews in their many varied activities. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. He was a prankster with a great sense of humor and was always telling stories. Art cherished his time with his nieces and nephews and had a very generous, loving heart.

Art will remain in the hearts of his mother, Donna; siblings: Debby (Stan) Abrahamson, Candy (Jim) Miller, Brad (Maren) Coulter, Gene (Amy) Coulter, and Fred (Amy) Coulter; many loving nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry; and aunt, Dorothy "Sis" Mayer.

A visitation will take place 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral services will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, with Pastor Larry Szyman officiating. Private interment will take place at Willow River Cemetery of Hudson.

Pallbearers assisting with the services will be Art's nieces and nephews: Craig Abrahamson, Nate, Matt, and Cassie Miller, Sondra, Chelsea, Allie and Gina, Coulter. Funeral services are entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home (715) 386-3725.
