Ascent companies mark opening of Hudson offices

Ascent Group Real Estate Services and Ascent Contracting received an official welcome to Hudson from the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau last Thursday.

Chamber ambassadors went to the Ascent companies' offices in the new Towerview Business Center in St. Croix Business Park to hold a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

The business center, built by Ascent Contracting, opened last spring.

"We are very excited to offer this state-of-the-art building to the Hudson market," said LouAnne Reger, CEO of Ascent Group.

The $4 million facility offers 40,000 square feet of leasing space for office, showroom or warehouse uses. Last July, it served as the setting a women's town hall meeting with Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Reger was chosen to host the event because she had been a leader in the male-dominated contracting business for nearly 30 years. Her J & L Steel Erectors company had a major role in building the new I-35W bridge in Minneapolis.

Ascent Group is a full-service commercial real estate firm serving Wisconsin and Minnesota. Its services include assisting in business relocations, expansion and investing.

The company's promotional material says it can take a development project from concept to completion.

Ascent Contracting is a full-service general contractor specializing in commercial construction. In addition to managing the design and construction of new facilities, the company can plan and oversee remodeling, expansion and tenant build-out projects.

The Ascent companies have relocated to Hudson from their previous offices in Maple Grove, Minn.

The current tenants of the Towerview Business Center, besides the Ascent companies, are J & L Steel Erectors, Energy Concepts and LHI Technology.
