Badgers need to improve road record says Bielema
University of Wisconsin Head Football Coach Bret Bielema says winning on the road will be a bigger priority this season.
The Badgers went 7-0 in Madison a year ago, but they lost three road contests, plus the Outback Bowl in Tampa.
This season's first road test comes on Saturday night against 21st-ranked Fresno State. The Bulldogs are 1-0 after beating Rutgers last weekend, 24-7.
Fresno is 37-9 at home since 2000. The 10th-ranked Badgers are 2-and-0, with home wins over Akron and Marshall.
Last year, Wisconsin won its seven home contests by an average of almost 18.5 points, but on the road, they were out-scored by almost eight points per contest.
Meanwhile, Bielema says tight end Travis Beckum and linebacker Jonathan Casillas are both expected to be ready for Saturday night's contest. The two seniors have not played since the New Year's Outback Bowl due to injuries.
