Badgers schedule a home and home football series against Washington
The Wisconsin football team took steps Tuesday to upgrade its future non-conference schedule.
The Badgers announced a home and home series with Washington of the Pac-10 Conference in 2017 and 2018.
The Huskies will play in Madison on Sept. 2 of '17, and the Badgers will play in Seattle on Sept. 1 of '18.
Coach Bret Bielema says it's a great chance to play a quality opponent in two terrific settings. Washington went 0-12 a year ago, but they're 2-3 this year under new coach Steve Sarkisian.
One of those victories was against USC.
Meanwhile, the Badgers have finalized next year's non-conference schedule. They'll open at Nevada-Las Vegas on Sept. 4.
That's followed by three home games against San Jose State on Sept. 11, Arizona State on Sept. 18, and Austin Peay Sept. 25.
This week, the Badgers are getting ready to play at No. 9 Ohio State on Saturday. Wisconsin is 5-0. The Buckeyes are 4-1.
