Badgers will use two quarterbacks Saturday against Fresno State
Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema says he'll use two quarterbacks again on Saturday, when the Badgers host Fresno State.
Junior Scott Tolzien will make his second straight start, and red-shirt freshman Curt Phillips will again see at least some playing time.
Tolzien led the Badgers for nine series and Phillips for two during Wisconsin's eight-point win over Northern Illinois on Saturday night.
Tolzien completed 15-20 passes for 257 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions.
The yardage was a record for a Badger debut.
Phillips completed 3 of 5 passes for 24 yards. And he had four carries for 34 more yards.
Both of Tolzien's interceptions came right after Phillips had played in the preceding series.
But offensive coordinator Paul Chryst calls it a coincidence, and he did not believe the change in quarterbacks was the main reason for the picks.
Bielema said both QB's played well and both will get more work at practice this week.
