With the Brewers up by one in the ninth, Francisco Cordero got a scare when Pat Burrell's long drive hit the top of the fence and bounced back in for a double.

Cordero then retired his final two batters to get his 16th save.

Ben Sheets got the win, giving up two runs on five hits in 7.66 innings and is now 4-2.

Geoff Jenkins was the only starter not to get a hit for the Brewers, who out-hit Philly 9-6.

Burrell had a solo shot for Philly, who lost for only the second time in its last eight games.

The Brewers ended a four-game losing streak and they expanded their lead in the National League Central to 5.5 over Houston.

Milwaukee starts Inter-league play Friday night with a weekend series against the Minnesota Twins at Miller Park.

Left-hander Chris Capuano will go against Twins' righty Boof Bonser.
