Milwaukee Brewers' general manager Doug Melvin has reportedly interviewed three candidates for the team's new pitching coach.

The Journal Sentinel identifies them as former big league pitching coaches Rick Peterson, Bryan Price and Chuck Hernandez.

Peterson is apparently the front-runner.

Peterson, 54, has previously served under both Brewers' manager Ken Macha in Oakland and bench coach Willie Randolph with the New York Mets.

Melvin says he'd like to have a new pitching coach in place by the end of the week, so he can help shore up the Brewers' pitching corps during the off-season.
