BRIDGE Bowl-A-Rama rocks Hudson Bowling Center
Wearing wigs, spandex, high heels and maybe a bit too much make-up, BRIDGE supporters made sure that the Rock Star-themed Bowl-A-Rama fundraiser was a memorable show for its standing-room-only crowd on Saturday, April 28, at the Hudson Bowling Center.
BRIDGE Executive Director Peg Gagnon announced that the event raised around $18,000 for the organization to support ongoing BRIDGE programs that allow youth and adults with disabilities in the St. Croix River Valley to participate in year-round day-service programs, attend ongoing recreational and social activities, and utilize its new Community Employment Service for those with disabilities.
"With local businesses, supporting organizations like the Knights of Columbus, families, UWRF student volunteers and engaged members of the community all gathering together to create a really fun day for people with special needs and to support BRIDGE, Bowl-A-Rama is a perhaps the most visible example of what has made our organization so successful and so impactful," said Gagnon. "And this year it was especially lively. Our theme was Rock Stars, and you could tell that a large number of our attendees spent a lot of time in wardrobe and makeup before greeting their adoring fans."
Bowl-A-Rama supports BRIDGE's vision that youth and adults with disabilities will be seen as community assets to be nurtured and developed so that they can become welcome, productive and engaged citizens. For more information, visit www.BridgeYWD.org.
