Burn ban goes into effect for Hudson area and beyond
River Falls Wisconsin 2815 Prairie Drive / P.O. Box 25 54022

Hudson Fire Chief Jim Frye said a burn ban will start immediately for the city of Hudson, village of North Hudson, the Town of Hudson, Town of Troy and surrounding area. Bans are also in place for St. Joseph Township, Roberts, Somerset, River Falls and Troy Township.

Lack of rain for weeks and now scorching temperatures with heat indexes above 100 are the reason for the burn ban.

The burn ban means this: No recreational fires outside; no controlled burns; no permit-issued brush fires.  The only exception is for gas and charcoal grills.
