Chamber Connections, a business referral group, has announced a new meeting location at Applebees in Hudson. Benson joins Bonestroo
Ron Benson has joined Bonestroo as a senior bridge engineer and project manager in the firm's transportation group. He has 20 years of experience in bridge design and inspection that encompasses a wide variety of bridge types. Benson has managed the design of new bridges and rehabilitation projects for many highway bridges in Minnesota, as well as recreation and timber vehicle bridges nationwide. Benson has also conducted load ratings and special inspections for existing bridges, including detailed structural evaluation of all types of structures considering existing condition and providing relevant recommendations. Benson holds a bachelor of civil engineering degree from the University of Minnesota. Headquartered in St. Paul, Bonestroo is the consulting engineering firm for the city of Hudson.
Entrepreneur course offered
A 12-session training program for entrepreneurs who want to start a business or expand their business to the next level will be offered by the Small Business Development Center at UW-River Falls from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 23-Dec. 9. Instructor Steve DeWald will teach "NxLevel Entrepreneurs" in Room 320 of South Hall on the UW-River Falls campus. DeWald holds a master of management degree and is a CPA and director of the center at UW-RF. Cost is $250, which includes reference book and all class materials. Clinic opens in Somerset
Stillwater Medical Group's Somerset Clinic has a meet and greet open house Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet and talk with providers and specialists who practice in Somerset, including a pediatrician, cardiologist, urologist, obstetrician/gynecologist, internist and family medicine practitioner. Refreshments will be served and participants can enter a drawing for door prizes. The Somerset Clinic is located at 700 Rivard St. No registration is required for this free event.
