Barbara Clark of Lakeland, Minn., was driving the Buick LaSabre that went through the mostly glass front of the office lobby. The car completely entered the building and stopped when it hit the reception desk.

Fortunately, no one was in the office at the time.

Clark, who works as a receptionist at the office, was arriving to open it for the day.

She said the car went over the curb as she pulled into a parking space, and she mistakenly pushed on the gas pedal instead of the brake. She was able to back the car out of the building.

The Hudson Fire Department was called to the scene after a witness reported smelling smoke. The smoke appeared to be from the tires of the car that spun until Clark regained control of the vehicle.

Century 21 Branch Manager Jon Olson arrived on the scene shortly after the crash. He was thankful he wasn't in his office, a few feet from where the car traveled into the building, that morning.

A beam from the front of the building was sent flying by the impact and lodged in an outer wall of Olson's office.
