Over the weekend Chapter 2 Books moved from 422 Second St. to 226 Locust St.

“The doors are open so we are open,” said Brian Roegge, owner of Chapter 2 Books. “If you can find what you want we will sell it to you.”

Understandably it will take a few days to complete the unpacking and arranging of products in their new location, which is the lower level of 226 Locust. Located on the corner of Locust and Third the building is also home to Hello the House.

“We really want to thank all of the customers, well-wishers and friends that helped with the move,” said Roegge. “We have one and one-half times more space here. The ceilings are a bit shorter so we had to shave off some of the selves but we are thrilled.”

Chapter 2 Books opened in Hudson two years, eight months and 25 days ago, as of Monday according to Roegge.

When he started the business, he was an avid mystery fan. At his wife, Sue’s suggestion, Roegge broadened in reading horizons in order to better serve their customers.

Today, he is a fan of both fiction and non-fiction and including young adult and children’s literature.

U.S. and world history as well as memoirs have also become favorites. Although Roegge admits he still mixes in his dark mysteries from time to time.

Chapter 2 Books is known for author events.

“We have local and national authors doing events at the store,” said Roegge. “That will continue in our new location. I love to hear them talk about their work no matter who the author is.”

At the present time Chapter 2 Books will maintain the same hours which were Sunday through Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“We tend to sell a lot more when we are open than when we are closed,” said Roegge, with a smile.

“We are very happy to have found a place so we can remain in Hudson,” Roegge. “We hope to increase the number of author and community events as well as partner with other downtown businesses.”
