New Richmond girl, 14, charged with attempted homicide

Chippewa County man who molested woman was on extended supervision

A Chippewa County man who molested a woman at gunpoint in Marshfield and later killed himself was on extended supervision at the time for a previous sexual attack.

That's what a state corrections' official said about Jason Felce, 36, of Cadott.

Police said he busted into a 25-year-old woman's apartment on Tuesday, sexually assaulted the woman, drove to the home he shared with his parents in Cadott, and shot himself in the basement.

Court records said Felce was put on 15 years' probation for a similar armed burglary and sexual assault in 1997.

The probation was revoked, and he was later sentenced to three years in prison.

Felce was freed in late 2003, but he stayed on supervision. In fact, corrections' regional director Gena Jarr told the Marshfield News-Herald that an agent visited the man at his home just two days before the Marshfield attack.

Jarr said it's not clear if Felce had permission to be in that city.
