DaMe Properties, led by Daniel R. Bauer, River Falls, filed a new petition for the city to annex the land on May 10.

Monday night, the City Council referred the petition to the Plan Commission for it to review. No mention was made of the proposed use for the site.

The action referring the petition to the Plan Commission for its recommendation was approved as part of the consent agenda.

A few years ago, the City Council rejected a petition to annex the property for use as a water park, hotel, restaurant and retail complex. Nearby residents were concerned about the traffic the development might generate.

More recently, gravel from the site was used to build ramps for the Hwy. 35 and Hanley Road interchange. The site was leveled in the process.
