SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
June 12, 2013 - MINUTES
Some Common Council Members were present in the Council Chambers beginning at 6:30 p.m. to meet with Information Technology staff to set up tablet devices for Council members. No formal action was taken by the Common Council during this time.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Alan Burchill in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 7:00 p.m.
PRESENT: Mayor Burchill and Alderpersons Randy Morrissette, Lori Bernard, John Hoggatt, and Rich Vanselow.
EXCUSED: Alderpersons Mary Yacoub and Kurt TeWinkel.
Sean Lentz of Ehlers & Associates provided a handout regarding the Five Year Financial Management Plan for the City. He stated the purpose of the meeting was to try to develop a long term financial plan and the effect it would have on taxpayers. He provided detailed information regarding: capital project costs by year (with and without the construction of a Public Safety Building), capital projects funds, the general fund balance, existing debt service, debt service levy (with and without a Public Safety Building), and the impact on mill rates.
Discussion was held regarding the City Departments' wish lists, possible construction of a Public Safety Building, the levy limit, the mill rate, and the need to prioritize projects.
MOTION by Hoggatt, second by Vanselow to adjourn the meeting. All ayes (4) MOTION CARRIED at 7:57 p.m.
