At 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, the Baldwin Fire Department was dispatched to a structural fire at the Coachman Supper Club.

According to the St. Croix County Dispatch, eight other departments were called for assistance. Among those dispatched were fire departments from River Falls, Glenwood City, Deer Park, New Richmond, Baldwin, Spring Valley, Hudson, and United Fire.


At the request of the Baldwin Police Department, agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice -- Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), and agents from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also responded to the scene.  The Wisconsin State Patrol and the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, along with all of the above mentioned agencies, continue to conduct a fire scene examination as part of an origin and cause investigation.

Field Services Captain Jeff Klatt said one male was transported to the Baldwin Area Medical Center due to injuries caused by smoke inhalation. According to the Wisconsin Attorney General's office, the injured man is the owner of the business.

Klatt said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
