Help with Habitat home
Mt. Zion Lutheran Church is constructing the walls of a Habitat Home that will be built in Ashland. Each year, church members work on a Habitat home. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 7-9, volunteers will build walls of the home in the parking lot of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 505 13th St. S., from 6-8 p.m. Members of the public are welcome to attend, help out and experience what a Habitat service project is like. After the walls are completed, they will be delivered to Ashland, and a group from the church will travel there to continue work on the home, which will house a family of five. HOME meal is Thursday night
The free Hudson Outreach Meal for Everyone, scheduled the first and third Thursday of the month, is set for July 2, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 Third St. Serving is from 5-6:30 p.m. Baby-sitting is available. For more information, call Ruth Lewis at (715) 425-9766.
Animal group gathers Thursday

County offers immunizations and other services
The St. Croix County Department of Public Health is holding public immunization clinics this month in New Richmond, 1445 N. Fourth St., from noon-4 p.m. Mondays, July 6, 13 (noon-5 p.m.), 20 and 27. A variety of low-cost vaccines are available. Hepatitis B vaccine for individuals 19 years of age and older must be preordered by calling (715) 246-8330 (cost is $36 per dose). Beekeepers meet July 9
The St. Croix County Beekeepers meet at 7 p.m. the second Thursday of the month at the county agriculture office, 1960 Eighth Ave., Baldwin. The next meeting is July 9. Everyone is welcome.
WITC open house Thursday, July 9
WITC-New Richmond is holding an open house from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, July 9. People may still apply for fall semester -- openings remain in some diploma and associate degree programs and in certificate programs. Advisers and staff will be available to answer questions, and prospective students may take a career assessment, tour the campus and have refreshments. WITC also offers online and evening courses along with flex labs.
