A conference for nonprofit staff and volunteers -- Building More Effective Nonprofits: The Challenge of Change -- is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at WITC-New Richmond. The conference will focus on the practical aspects of nonprofit management, motivating staff and future planning for successful overall operations.

Lynn Miner from Miner and Associates Inc. will give the main speech, "The Challenges of Change," discussing reasons why people resist change and strategies for producing effective organizational change. Participants will have a choice of four morning and four afternoon workshops on various aspects of nonprofit management.

Cost is $50 and includes lunch. For scholarship or registration information, contact Maltee McMahon at mmcmahon@bremer.com or (715) 231-7957.

A pre-conference grant-writing workshop is from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at UW-Stout in Menomonie. Contact McMahon for details.
