Cora Riley Hunt, 79, of Hudson, formerly of Milaca, Minn., passed away Sunday, March 9.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1928, to Henry and Eva (Cook) Riley in Aitkin, Minn. Cora graduated from Aitkin High School in 1947 and moved to live with her sister in Santa Ana, Calif., to attend college.
She was united in marriage to William L. Hunt on Oct. 5, 1953, in Webster, S.D. Their union would be blessed with four children, Evanne, William Jr., Kimberly and George.
Cora was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Milaca and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion's Women Auxiliaries. Cora tried all of the artistic and creative activities that community education offered; she especially liked painting and knitting. She adored being a grandmother and was known to make the best doughnuts!
Cora was preceded in death by her son, George; parents; and siblings, Julia and Romauld.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill; children, Evanne (Greg Korman) Hunt, William (Rita) Hunt Jr. and Kimberly (Jay) Bremseth; grandchildren, David and Sabrina Hunt, Payton, Grace and Bailey Bremseth; siblings, Lorraine, Henry and Cecil; nieces and nephews; George's fiancé, Sheila D'Angelo; and extended family.
A memorial service for Cora will be held Thursday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1205 Sixth St., Hudson.
