Costume and prop sale will benefit Willow River Players
Willow River Players, the New Richmond area community theater organization, will be holding a sale this Saturday at their storage unit on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m.-noon at 230 North Fifth Street in New Richmond. Turn west at the Super America store and follow the signs.
The group, founded in 1996, has done over 25 productions and is downsizing their overstock of costumes and props. “We store our set pieces, costumes and props and decorations,” noted WRP President Chad Leonard. “I think right before Halloween is a great time for us to move out some of our 40 tubs of stuff as people can use all sorts of things for costume parties and trick or treating. These are the things you don’t find at the store — we definitely didn’t find them at a store to start with!” There are clothes, shoes, accessories, set pieces, home décor, dishes, props, and more.
The funds raised will go into the scholarship fund that is awarded to graduating seniors who are looking at furthering their education in the arts. Annual winners of the Carla S. Kelley scholarship have studied music and theater in college.
