County Farm City Day set Aug. 8
Dan and Mary Luckwaldt will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Luckwaldt Farm Saturday, Aug. 8, by hosting the 28th annual St. Croix County Farm City Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
This annual event is an opportunity for families to visit a dairy farm for a day and have guided tours through the fields and dairy barn at the Luckwaldt's.
Participants will see dairy cows being milked. They will also see and touch in the petting barnyard where there will be a number of farm animals for children to see and touch.
The crop tour features crops grown to feed the dairy herd, and participants will also see the machinery used to plant and harvest the crops.
The Schottler Family Dairy Milk Buds pony team is performing during the day and giving pony wagon rides. Participants will have a chance to see the miniature ponies up close and visit with the Schottler Family.
There is an antique machinery display featuring a number of tractors and equipment from the past. A threshing machine and one of the first wire tie hay and straw balers ever made will be in operation.
Music entertainment will also be provided throughout the day. Free lunch and ice cream will also be served.
