Couple swims Lake Michigan for awareness
A Grand Rapids, Mich., couple began a 50-mile swim across Lake Michigan the morning of Aug. 14, with the goal of raising public awareness about post-partum depression.
After delaying their departure for a day because of the threat of thunderstorms, Jeff and Sara Tow started swimming from Two Rivers, planning to reach the lighthouse at Ludington State Park in western Michigan the afternoon of Aug. 15.
The Tows said they suffered post-partum depression after the births of their two children and wish to increase the public's cognizance of the condition. People can keep up with the Tows swim or read more about their mission regarding post-partum depression, log onto their website at www.throughtheblue.org.
