Dan Greenwald dies Monday
Dan Greenwald, 86, of Hudson died Monday, Jan. 12, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Greenwald had been active in the community with many organizations.
He currently was president of the Hudson Hospital Health Foundation, a member of the Hudson Hospital Board, a board member (past president) of the Carpenter Nature Center board of directors and oversaw the Al Hein Trust Fund. The Al Hein Trust has donated funds to many local organizations and charities since its beginning in the late 1980s. He was also a SCORE counselor in the 1990s.
Greenwald graduated from the University of Minnesota in March 1944 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked most of his career with the Ford Motor Co. with stints in New Jersey, Kansas City and St. Paul. His positions included quality control manager, production manager and manufacturing engineering manager. He retired in 1980.
After retiring, he had various positions with Advantek Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., and Advantek GmbH, Freiburg, Germany. With Advantek, he made frequent trips to Tokyo, Singapore and Germany.
His hobbies included photography, boating, travel and woodworking. His health had declined in the past year, but he still remained active in the community up until he was hospitalized earlier this year.
Greenwald was married to his wife, Jean, in 1947. She died March 22, 2005. The couple had a daughter, Vicki (Huebner), and son, Jack.
