De Pere man gets prison for picking up kids while drunk
A De Pere man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for being drunk while picking up his kids at a child care center.
Prosecutors said Todd Hansford had a blood alcohol level of 0.25, more than three times the legal limit, when he arrived at a center in Ledgeview to pick up his two children on March 4.
Day care staffers tried to keep Hansford from driving away with the kids, and they called 911.
Brown County sheriff's deputies later arrested him at the center's parking lot.
When he leaves prison, Hansford must spend two years under extended supervision.
