Dean Talafous was honored at the Raider boys' hockey game against Eau Claire Memorial on Dec. 19 at the Hudson Sports and Civic Center. The former University of Wisconsin and NHL player, UW-River Falls and Alaska-Anchorage coach and founder of the Total Hockey training was recognized for his contributions to Hudson's hockey programs.

He was accompanied by his wife, Jax, and son, Pete, the leading scorer in Hudson High School boys' hockey history and an outstanding player with the University of Wisconsin.

Dean Talafous was inducted into the Badger Athletic Hall of Fame Aug. 30. Brent Hanson, president of the Hudson Hockey Association, presented Talafous with his framed Badger jersey, which will hang in Gornick Arena, located in the Hudson Sports and Civic Center.
