December shows increased milk production
Wisconsin's dairy cows stayed busier than their national counterparts last month. The state's milk production rose by 4.3% in December, while the national output dropped by nine tenths of a percent from a year ago. Wisconsin farmers made just over 2.2 billion pounds of milk during the month. California - the nation's number-one milk-producing state - reported 4.6% less than a year ago, at almost 3.3 billion pounds.
