Deer hunter survives attack by black bear
Deer hunter Jim Zemaitis says his experience on a deer drive in Nice Lake Marsh won't stop him from hunting.
Zemaitis was attacked by a black bear near Birchwood, Wis., last Thursday. He suffered puncture wounds, had to have three stitches and is bruised all over.
Zemaitis says he first thought he was looking at a burned stump, but when the bear reared up he saw its teeth. He says he rolled into a ball on the ground and started screaming.
His cousin was able to scare the bear away. His friends say Jim Zemaitis was pretty calm after the attack, but he admits he didn't stop shaking for at least 15 minutes.
