A differing view of gays
I am responding to Reverend Bruch's article "Backs Gay Acceptance" in the November 5 edition of the Hudson Star-Observer.
You say people cause homosexuals to feel anxious. I love all people - all sinners including homosexuals. When you love someone, you tell them the truth. Homosexuals or any sinner who feels anxious needs to come to Jesus who forgives sin and gives you eternal life. But God says, Believe in me, repent, meaning turn away from your sin and follow Him.
Homosexuals are not created by God, nor are they born into the practice. It is chosen, it is sin - But there is good news here in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." If you are anxious, be glad - the Holy Spirit is speaking to you to come to Jesus and live!
Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." How can His Word be "a club" to anyone, when God has loved us so much that He sent Jesus who suffered, bled and died and rose again to forgive us? Repent and receive Him into your life as our Savior and Lord. If we choose not to take Jesus, we choose death-separation from God, which is hell. Proverbs 3:7 says "Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord, and depart from evil."
I chose Jesus who went willingly to the cross, in obedience to God His Father. Talk to God - he hears you and His Word says He will turn no one away. "For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is a gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast" Ephesians 2: 8-9. You say people cause homosexuals to feel anxious. Every sinner should feel anxious about their sin and receive God and his forgiveness.
