Donna Scarborough, 88
Donna Marie Scarborough, 88, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Regions Hospital, St. Paul, after a brief illness.
Born Jan. 10, 1925, to Willis and Clara (Erickson) Harper in Greenbush, Minn., Donna graduated from Windom High School in 1942. In April 1943, she married William Scarborough and lived many years in Parker's Prairie and Morris, Minn. Bill died in 1979.
Like many war brides, Donna worked full time to put her husband through college and continued to work full time her entire life as a medical assistant and secretary.
After retirement she moved to Hudson to be closer to her daughter, Susan Scarborough, and in 2010, she moved to WinterGreen. In Hudson, she volunteered at Prairie Elementary, the hospital and the Methodist Church.
Donna was known as a true friend to many. She had a quick wit and great sense of humor. In addition to working, she enjoyed baking, gardening, dancing, and playing Bridge. Throughout her life, she always kept a spotless house, often with a Dachshund in it.
Surviving are her son, Michael (Susan) of Alexandria, Minn., and their daughters, Quinn and Paige Scarborough; and her daughter, Susan, and her sons, Grady and Colin Courtney; a sister, Barbara Lorimier of Texas, and Barbara's two children.
A memorial service will be held at WinterGreen at a later date.
