Earl Bates, 88
Earl J. Bates, 88, of Baldwin died peacefully Monday, April 21, at Baldwin Care Center.
Earl was born Aug. 10, 1919, to Ignatz and Rose (Krammes) Bates, in Elmwood.
He married Linda Lou Moline on Oct. 28, 1945, in Baldwin.
He enjoyed walking in the woods looking for butternuts. He liked fishing in the Apple River and pheasant and deer hunting. Earl enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandson.
Earl is survived by his two daughters, Theodora "Teddy" (Jim) Stone of Hudson and Penelope "Penny" (Bruce) Siegersma of Baldwin; grandchildren, William "BJ" Denzer, Janna Stone and Nicholas Siegersma; great-grandson, Ryan Denzer; and one sister, Eleanor Britton of Elmwood.
He was preceded in death on June 8, 2004, by his wife, Linda Lou Bates; a son, Earl G. Bates; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin with the Rev. Dr. Laurence Goebel officiating.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
The family of Earl would like to sincerely thank the Baldwin Care Center staff for the excellent care given to Dad.
Memorials are preferred.
Services were entrusted to O'Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin.
