EMS, fire department get high ropes training

St. Croix EMS High Angle Ropes Team held a training Aug. 19 at the Hudson water tower on Wisconsin Street. The training was conducted by WITC, with members of St Croix EMS, Hudson Fire Department and New Richmond EMS & Rescue taking part.

The training included proper rigging techniques intended to allow the safe rescue of a disabled person on the 130-foot water tower.

The High Angle Ropes team aids in rescue efforts in areas of difficult access including rocky terrain, utility structures and other manmade and natural obstacles to emergency service personnel.
