Expanding to meet your needs: Croix Valley Veterinary Hospital
Vicki and David Datt both DVMs wanted to return to the Midwest after living in California for nearly a decade. Both had graduated from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2003, they purchased Croix Valley Veterinary Hospital on O'Neil Road.
Steadily, the practice has grown and this spring it was time to add on to both the facility and the staff.
"We hired another full-time veterinarian, Dr. Jessica Radtke, to enable us to serve our clients and patients better," said Vicki. Radtke is a native of Brainard, Minn., and currently resides in Bloomington.
She is a recent graduate, also of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, on the St. Paul campus.
"I completed my undergraduate degree at the UM-Duluth," said Radtke, who chose to study for a mixed practice. "I like to have a variety of things to do every day. Everyone here has been very welcoming and it still feels like a small community."
In addition to having a third veterinarian join the practice, the Datts expanded and remodeled their facility. They have added a second exam room, more storage space, more kennels with larger runs and expanded their surgery suite.
"We got to the point where it was tough to spend enough time with our clients," said David. "That's why we needed to add on."
The project began in April and was completed this month.
