Adrian Peterson ran for 180 yards and three touchdowns, including a 64-yard scamper late in the fourth quarter.

Favre, 39, said he never played with a running back like Peterson, and to describe him as awesome would be an understatement.

Detroit got crushed at New Orleans, 45-to-27, ruining the debuts of Lions' rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford and coach Jim Schwartz.

Stafford completed 16-of-37 passes for 205 yards and three interceptions, two of them to former Packer Darren Sharper.

Stafford did have a rushing touchdown for the Lions, who lost their 18th straight regular season game.

Mike Bell ran for 143 yards for the 0-1 Lions.

Drew Brees threw a career-high six touchdown passes for the Saints, who had 515 total yards to just 231 for Detroit.
