First flu case of season reported

The flu season is officially here.

Wisconsin recorded its first official case yesterday, after a 35-year-old woman got sick in Vernon County.

State health officials say it's not too late to get a flu shot. They also urge good hygiene -- like keeping your hands off your nose and mouth, and staying home from work or school if you're sick.

Wisconsin's flu season normally runs from early December to March. The most cases occur in January or early February.
