Florence L. Edin, 96, of Hudson died Saturday, April 26, at the Christian Community Home, where she was a resident since January.
She was born the daughter of Herman and Emma Teich on Dec. 21, 1911, in Pine City, Minn.
Florence taught for several years at a country school in Pine City.
On Oct. 9, 1937, she married Emmett Edin. The couple stayed in Pine City and were blessed with five children: Murray, Kaye, Tom, Clay and Joel.
In 1955, the family moved to Hudson. Florence was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 53 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters and her husband, Emmett (1984).
Florence is survived by her children, Murray Edin, Kaye (David) Mithum, Tom (Vickie) Edin, Clay (Janet) Edin and Joel (Diane) Edin; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Lauretta Teich; and many nieces and nephews.
Florence's entire 96 years were solely devoted to the love of her
church and her family. Nothing was more important. She was also very
creative and loved to sew, knit, bake and braid rugs. She made homemaking an art form long before Martha Stewart. Flowers and the beauty of nature were a constant joy in her life as were her friends. She worked so hard for so many years, always trusting someday God would bring her home. Let God and the angels care for you now, Mom, today heaven has become a much richer place.
