Flowers, lights stolen from Willow River Cemetery
Over the past several weeks there have been a series of flowers, plants, lights and other items from the Willow River Cemetery, according caretaker Mike Miller.
Miller said there are thefts like these every few years. This year flowers and lights have been taken primarily on the east side of the cemetery. Three families have reported thefts this summer with one family reporting multiple thefts from the family grave site.
Miller recently met with police regarding the thefts. A surveillance camera in the cemetery did reveal a woman who appears to be stealing a shepherd’s hook from one of the grave sites.
Miller said they will post information about the thefts on a Facebook page and ask for any information. They are also advising visitors that the cemetery has surveillance cameras in an effort to catch the thief or thieves.
The Hudson Police Department has also placed the picture of the suspect in the surveillance tape on their Facebook page. Anyone with information on the thefts should call HPD department at (715)386-4771.
