Former Packer Walker recovering in Las Vegas robbery
Former Packers' receiver Javon Walker is recovering from severe facial injuries and a moderate concussion, after he was apparently robbed in Las Vegas.
Police say they're still trying to verify the incident.
Walker remained hospitalized Tuesday. He told officers that two people approached him, threw him into a car and assaulted him while taking $3,000 and jewelry worth $100,000.
The incident was reported Monday morning at a corner near the Summer Bay Resort, not far from the Las Vegas Strip.
Walker told police he was at a number of places Sunday night, but could not give them a timeline.
One newspaper report said he sprayed champagne at two nightclubs Saturday and Sunday nights.
Walker was the Packers' first-round draft choice in 2001, and was traded to Denver five years later. The Broncos cut him after two seasons and Oakland recently signed him.
