Former Hudson High School football star Kraig Urbik signed a four-year $13.3 million contract with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He may in fact be making more - some news outlets have the contract worth $15 million. Several news sources indicated that, as part of the deal, the starting right guard received a $3.5 million signing bonus.

Urbik, a 2004 graduate of Hudson High School, was a first-team all-state selection when he played for Hudson Raider teams coached by Craig Jilek. He went on to be the starting right tackle for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Urbik was selected in the third round of the NFL draft in 2009 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. After a year with the Steelers, he was claimed off waivers by the Bills in September 2010 and has been with Buffalo the past three seasons.

He has started 24 games over the past two seasons and helped pave the way for Buffalo's highly productive rushing attack that finished fifth in yards per carry average last season (4.9) and 13th in rushing, according to the Bills' website.

This year, the Bills ranks sixth in the league in rushing and are tied for third in yards per carry average.

Urbik was also part of a unit that surrendered the fewest sacks in 2011.

The 27-year-old Urbik signed a $1.26 contract for this season last April.

The new contract, in addition to the signing bonus, will see him make $2.05 million next year and up to $2.9 million in 2016.

Urbik is the son of Joanne and Ken Urbik.
